Over the years we have accumulated an extremely suitable collection of machinery for our seeding program. Below is an outline of our key implements and tractors.
Glenvar Bars
In 1998 and 1999 consecutively two Glenvar bars were designed and built in a partnership between Glenvar and John Walker from Merriden. These bars consist of Nichols tynes at the front to deep band the fertiliser and walker discs at the rear to accurately place the seed.
The unique features of this seeding bar are:
- Twinning method- Each row of fertiliser is placed neatly in between two rows of seed.
- Deep ripping-Each bar has the ability to deep rip at the same time as seeding by dropping down the tynes which band the fertiliser.

Biomax Bar
In 1994 a forward engineering seeding bar was purchased. This consists of coulter discs on the front banding the fertiliser and biomax discs in the rear for accurate seed placement. This is an all disc machine an hence has the following advantages:
- Allows extremely accurate shallow seeding
- Improved trash clearance
- Twinning method-This is also set up with the twinning method

Flexicoil Airseeders
Each seeding bar is used with a Flexicoil 2320 airseeder. These airseeders are devloped with very regular seed flow which is distributed accurately across all the distribution points.
Belly Dumper Trucks
Two belly dumpers have been set up to allow fast filling of the flexicoil airseeders. The original flexicoil augers were upgraded to a 12 inch auger and the belly dumpers are set up so to auger directly into these.

Spreading (extra pot ash)
A 10T Marshall Multispreader is used to supplement nutrients. This is mainly used to combat Acidity(spread Lime) and potassium deficiency in our sandy soils.

Spraying
In 2000 a Nitro sprayer was purchased to complete the spraying program. This has been a fantastic addition to the program. It is fully equipped with a Rinex GPS allowing spraying to continue through the night. This enables one spray rig to cover the whole farm as required.
